Philicia Jefferson, PH.D., LPC, CRC, ACS, BCFMHE 
Dr. Jefferson holds a doctorate degree in counselor education from George
Mason University. She is also ABD (doctorate candidate) in Theological Studies at
Logos University of Florida. As a licensed clinical mental health counselor, she
specializes in trauma-informed counseling. As Board Certified Forensic Mental
Health Evaluator, she works with court systems to provide clinical evaluations to
support families faced with deportation concerns.

 

She has held several faculty
and administrative positions at institutions of higher education to include
Germanna Community College, the University of the District of Columbia, the
University of Virginia, Virginia State University, Northern Michigan University and
the Pentecostal Theological Seminary where her teaching expands beyond the
continent of the United States. She is an Oxford Institute Scholar of Cambridge,
England and also the Founder of the National Christian Counselor Institute.


Dr. Jefferson’s daughter, Charnita Allen, is a system’s engineer and her late son,
Richard was a career marine. She is married to Mr. Nathaniel Jones, retired
Federal Government Data Analyst.

 

Crisis Intervention

– Services comprise of immediate comprehensive assessment to determine applicant’s short-term and long-term  needs that will foster stabilization.

Case Management

– Services include collaborating with community partners to identify resources pertaining to basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Job placement and development is also available on a limited basis.

​

Psycho-educational Training

- group counseling services opened to individuals in need of solution-focused counseling training designed for groups of no more than 12 participants. The sessions require attendance at weekly meetings for a minimum of four weeks. Participants must complete a request form to qualify for the sessions.

​

Solution Focused Clinical Counseling

- outpatient individual counseling sessions with a professional counselor. Solution-focused counseling is short-term intensive counseling with a duration of only six sessions. Individuals in need of long-term services will be connected to an agency or provider in the community.

Referral Services for Long-term Therapy

– FailSafe maintains a directory of counseling services for its participants who may need extensive mental health treatment that exceeds six sessions.

​

Training

– Individuals who hold an undergraduate degree in psychology or seeking an internship at the graduate level are encouraged to submit an application to join the staff at FAILSAFE-Era with the approval of their institution of higher education.
